The Hawaiian Healing Arts Academy

Collaborative, structured learning for a deeper path

In 2024, I co-founded the Lomi Lomi Nui Hawaiian Healing Arts Academy with Magdalena (Maganay). We both began our Lomi Lomi journeys in 2020 and were transformed by this work. Our paths crossed in 2023, and within a year our shared vision of living and sharing a Life of Aloha gave birth to the Academy.

The Academy is a collaborative learning container — designed for longer, structured trainings and retreats rooted in lineage, embodied practice, and heart-centered teaching. Trainings are offered in Reykjavík, Iceland, and internationally.

What the Hawaiian Healing Arts Academy Offers

  • Longer-term learning containers

  • Immersive trainings and retreats

  • A shared teaching approach grounded in lineage and lived experience

While Ásgeir teaches independent workshops and private trainings in Reykjavík, the Academy represents a collective and ongoing learning path guided together with Magdalena.

Our motto: Nānā i ke kumu — “Look to the Source.”

Private trainings and mentorship with Ásgeir are offered independently of the Hawaiian Healing Arts Academy.

About the Teachers

    Magdalena

Magdalena is a practitioner and inspirational teacher of Lomi Lomi Nui, a Hawaiian system of bodywork rooted in touch, breath, presence, unconditional love, and psychosomatic understanding. She lives the Hawaiian Aloha lifestyle and follows the principles of Huna.

Movement has been a part of her life from the beginning — ballet, Latin dance, yoga, qi gong, Gaga movement, and contact improvisation. Her hands have always been a creative force, crafting natural works inspired by Mother Earth.

Lomi Lomi Nui entered her life at an unexpected moment — at a time when she was longing for love. Through the practice, she found love within herself and the desire to share compassion, acceptance, and healing with others.

Filled with gratitude for her teachers and experiences, she now dedicates her life to sharing ancient Hawaiian knowledge. She has studied with teachers including Marta Maja Gierczynska, Aga Rybak, Susan Floyd, Serge Kahili King, Jody Mountain, Harry Uhane Jim, Kaniho Kanehoalani, Maka’ala Yates.

She is a mother of three daughters and continues to draw inspiration from nature, movement, and the power of the heart.

    Asgeir

Ásgeir is a practitioner and teacher of Lomi Lomi Nui and the wisdom of Aloha. His work is grounded in loving touch, flowing movement, mindful breath, gratitude, forgiveness, and radical presence.

“I ground my life in mindful breathing and radical presence. I live with an open heart, walking the path of Aloha and helping others awaken the power within their own hearts.”

His journey began with chronic back pain. Through receiving Lomi Lomi Nui, he avoided surgery and discovered a profound calling. He trained with Aloha Magdalena in Iceland and began his healing practice, Mahalo Ásgeir. His mission is deeply personal: to support his mother and help others heal through loving touch.

Drawn to the spiritual depth of Hawaiian healing, he studied the wisdom of Harry Uhane Jim, Huna, and Hawaiian shamanism. He is currently studying with Susan Pa’iniu Floyd to become an authorized teacher of this sacred lineage. His studies also brought him to Hawaii and into a spiritual connection with Pele.

Ásgeir is a father of two grown children and brings decades of experience as a business owner into his life as a healer and teacher. Hawaiian healing is now his spiritual path and life’s purpose.
